DIY Speaker Brackets?

Ok so i have 6.5" speaker holes:D and my friend has some memphis power reference 5.25" hes gonna give me for helping him with an install of his own. and I was wondering if anyone has made speaker brackets like this before BC i bought some flat metal that i was thinking of cutting pieces of and mounting the speaker to the metal like the picture I wont have any bass going to these so what resonance the door panel would give if any is neglible to me

Or use Pine. And, if it's going into your doors, make sure to use a nice amount of sealant on it, to minimize the risk of it swelling up. A lot of people who just do straight MDF baffles find that after a year, the MDF has swollen up and become disfigured.

 
True ^ I usually paint mine when i install them. A quick coat of black exterior paint does the trick for me. And some silicone or caulk around the mounting surface.
x2 Doesn't have to be anything special. You should also invest in some non-hardening clay.
