DIY RCA Cables

Thinking of making some custom RCA cables as I need some different lengths other than available retail. Which type of wire would be suited, RJ59 coax, instrument cable or mic cable?

They make RCA connectors for coaxial cable like the ones HERE I never used em in a car but I ran coaxial cable threw my walls so I wouldn't have wires running all over the place and it worked well

what I have done in the past is buy some ends and buy some retail rca's, then cut one end to length and solder on the new ends, it is a little easier then soldering and stripping both ends, this way if it doesn't sound right you know it can only be one end. just an idea
