DIY cable shielding

I don't need one of these
I was wondering how I could shield an audio cable myself... I broke an RCA in the back of my headunit and because I'm a crackhead ended up cutting two more to fix everything... (broke NF rca, cut off Rear to fix but meant to get aux in)... I am planning on getting a new deck and would like to make absolutely sure that when I sell my old deck (Kenwood x959) that all is in order with the preouts... does anyone know where to buy the sheilding or any materials that would work?

i would think any type of rubber, or some good insulator would work. fuel line cut down the side and put over the rca would probably do a decent job if rubber does indeed shield.
