diy amp

well, since i am not at school in trouble, and pretty bored, i was thinking a diy amp would be something good to keep me occupied. has anyone ever made one? which ones are good, and where do you get them?

the modern chip-amps are a pretty good start. something like a lm3875, lm3886, or lm4700. fairly basic, and good for high-level design of amplifiers. IIRC, you can get kits from chipamp.com . sound.westhost.com also has a variety of audio projects.
