well once my CDTs sell, i'm thinkin about making a DIY 3way setup

not really set on a price limit, but would like to keep it $200 & under.

here are some speakers im looking at

Midbass:

Mach 5

ID OEMs

Vifa

Daytons

Peerless

Seas

Tweeters:

Seas Neos

Vifa

-any other good tweeters you can think of.

Now here is where I'm stuck, I have no clue whats good midrange

could use alot of help there.

so if you got a good 3way combo, post it up and let me know how you liked it.

When you say 3-way, do you mean 3-way front + sub or 3-way total? I'm going to assume 2-way + sub given your budget. I have the OEM's now and will be looking to upgrade my tweeters in about a month. Here is what's on my list now;

Peerless 810921 HDS

Dayton RS28A4

Vifa XT25

Morel MDT-22

Morel MDT-12

So far, I am really liking what I read about the HDS. I just really want a tweet that has no problem being crossed around 2khz. That way I have a lot of options as far as crossing over the mid and tweet.

i could possibly get you the aa polys if you want let me know. also im also doing custom 3 way i am doing 8" kicker ssmb8

mavin soft silk tweets and mavin dome midrange. i realy like these mavin product they are the shit . awesome product

vifa tg9 for midrange. cheap, small(ish). works.

IMO, $200 for a full 3-way is pretty low. Can be done, but don't expect a miracle. I'd rather spend $200 on good 2-way drivers.

Beat me too it!

thats ghey and no ****. 3way>2way
Badass 2-way>Crappy 3-way

If going under 200 I would stick with the usual seas neo and Mach 5 Mli or ID OEM mids. I would really recommend the Peerless Exclusive mids and mine are badass. A great budget twwet are the Blaupunkt VC100s. They got great reviews on DIYMA and for 35 shipped off egay nothing comes even close for the price range.

When doing a 3-way most people stick with the 8in midbass, 4in midrange and then the tweeter so these would be my choices

Tweeter: Seas Neos, LPG Aluminums, Vifa XT25 or Peerless HDS

Midrange: Peerless/vifa TG-9 or TC-9 and that Dayton ref 4in

Midbass: Peerless Exclusive Mids, Peerless XLS 8s, Dayton Ref 8s

Thats all I can think of at the moment.

that's a problem

dont think i can fit 8s in my blazer

someone prove me wrong?

someone also told me that the Vifa TG-9 is a good midrange, so leaning towards that

I run a 3-way. I know what he’s talking about.

For $200 (which was what the OP said he had budgeted) your 3-way setup is going to suffer. Unless you’re getting dealer cost.

OP, if you say you have more money than $200, what is it? I don’t think I’d look at 3-way with anything less than $300...and then I’d be looking at used drivers.
