I just installed my alpine type R today and I blew two fuses. I dunno what the problem is at all. I checked all the wiring and nothing seems to be touching nothing.

I am running 4ga to 2 8ga terminals. The power wire for the sub (8ga) is less then 2ft long. not even a ft.

I am running two 30amp fuses.

The bazooka is 4x15amp fuses on the amp itself and of course, the 30amp from the power wire. I have no idea to what the problem is.

Tha amp is putting 500rms at 2ohm. Again, I have no idea what to do. Any help appricated. Thanks.

Well if the bazooka amp has 4X15A fuses on it, that is a total of 60A of total fuse. You are fusing the power wire at half that, I would say it is a problem.

Do you pop the fuse right when the amp powers up or once you start poundin away?

The bold makes it seem like you are using only one of the 8awg strands for the sub amp. Are you only using one or both?

Yea if you are only using one, and it only opens at higher volumes, then it is simply because you are running too small of a fuse. Get a 80A fuse, or 60A if they have it. As chevyaudio said though, 8awg is rated for 65-85A so an 80A fuse will be fine, especially with a

yeah go ahead and get an 80 amp, problem solved //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif how does it sound while its working?
