im going to wire 0/1 gauge wire from the battery to the trunk and from the trunk i want to have a distro block for (1) 0/1 gauge input and (1) 0/1 gauge out and (1) 8 gauge out. Now the problem is... where do i fuse this all or would it just be better to run also a 8 gauge power wire from batt to trunk? i thought that you should fuse the power wire as close to the battery as possible so any suggestions? any input is welcomed. Thank you.

Just put a fuse block about a foot from the battery rated at the appropriate size for your amps current draw. But it wouldn't hirt to add another fuse near the amp is the amp doesn't have its own protection circuit (unlikely).

I don't see a need to run another 8ga. wire unless your current draw is too much for 1/0

if your running a 1/0 cable from your battery to the front.

put a fuse 18" or closer to the battery, Run your 1/0 to the back, Find the distro block you want, and voila.

Fusing your main wire is a must. and even if your amp has a fuse, it never hurts to have a distro block with fuse also.
