Dissapointed with Type R

Im not sure what it is but compared to the P1 dual 10's in that prefab ported box wired @ 8 ohms... the type R dissapoints me. Im not sure if the box is too big for my trunk or for the sub or maybe the sub just sucks...

Heres the deal. Its on a Orion HCCA-2400 wire @ 1 ohm. I played with the gains to get it right and I'm giving it enough power to make my rpm drop slightly. I mean I have an 06 maxima and that kinda scares me that it needs that much power and still doesnt hit right. Not sure what it could be...

The box is 2.3^3 @ 32 hz btw

I have mine 10" in 1.8 cubes with a 41htz tuning...it is insane...try tuning a little higher like maybe 36 and it will be a darastic impovement. I think Alpine recomends at least a 34htz tuning correct?

theres your problem

If your RPM's are dropping, that means your have a major electrical problem. This means that you are getting no where near the potential output from that amplifier, which would limit your output from the subwoofer.

What is your electrical like? I assume stock, since you bought a Type R... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

But definitely adjust your gains with a DMM. Go to the Gain setting tutorial on this site. Second of all... you have a problem with your electrical. You shouldnt get dimming on a stock maxima. Friend of mine has 2 12" type R's with about 1000 watts and another 200 watts on stock system and there is no light dimming or revving issues. (real amount of power) (has done the big 3)

I dont know what your problem is but I had MIne tuned for more sql and was underpowering i think, i had and mrd m1005 powering two of them they were reidiculous loud I mean like you would get a head ache, then I took one sub out of the box and it sounded even better

It cant be the amp. Its already pushed several other subs perfectly. I think this box just isnt made for the type R. Anyone know of a 12 that will work perfectly in 2.3 cubes @ 32 hz???? I can wire the amp at 4 or 2 ohms. I kinda wanna stay away from 1ohm so there isnt that much elec drag on my car. Anyone?
