There's a couple reasons... 1 being supposedly delivery dates. If something happens at build house the customers have to wait even longer. I think in order to sell products on here they should have the product on hand. All they are really doing is avoiding interest fees from taking customers money instead of getting a loan from a bank.

I will give you the dates, that can become an issue...however that is why it is at a cheaper price.

The comment on funds is false. All orders are prepaid or the build house will not build them. So all of those comments over the years are just false and simply not true. There are a few companies that try to sell items before they are built, but in reality most do not do this.

If you need an item right now then do not buy it and move on. It is obvious that at that time a "pre-order" is not for you. So please some one please give me solid reasons for hating on a "pre-order" I have been in this business for 15 years now and never once heard a good argument suggesting a "pre-order" is a horrible idea. From a business standpoint it is the single best thing a company can do with new product.

So an isolated situation with a company not being discussed is your answer? Please, attempt to bring in some sort of actual real arguments here. I understand I may have my hopes set far to high for this, but I would truly like to see a non BS response with actual facts and not opinions or.."well this company...or that company..." as that is not the topic here.

Build house sent rd some awesome amps he sent them to customers.... Amps burned up people got screwed out of there money.

Now I'm no way at all saying Jacob at sundown is anything like Steve iirc the previous owner of rd. But crap does happen. Especially when your getting electronics that are made by people in sweat shops.

I don't mind the idea of a pre-order. Gets some money in the pockets of the producers and gives consumers a price break at the expense of a little waiting. No big deal in thine eyes.

The RD situation was horrible, as were a few more situations Steve put them in. Yes, things can happen with any build house(domestic or other wise). It is a risk we all take when getting anything built. However, most Pre-Orders from SA or other companies or normally after they are on the ship on their way over and delays come from customs.

From what I understand the RD build house was not the same as SA, OA, Skarr, Hertz, and many others...

"Things" can happen in any situation. You can buy an amp from company A that is sitting in the warehouse and it gets lost in shipping....or damaged in shipping. If you purchase items that are not in your hand at the time of transaction you take a risk.

IIRC, this happened to eD customers at some point too. I still feel sorry for all those people whom have purchased TC 5200's.

...and putting a order down for some amps on your credit card doesn't exactly mean you ever had the capital to pay off your endeavor in the first place. Just means you better be fucking lucky and not have any board defects and pray to god that you make a few bucks back.

I have participated in pre orders I'm just shedding some light on the negatives.

The only true negative is if a delivery is held up by Customs.
