discrepancies with SUNDOWN AUDIO

I dropped the China idea and am in the process of US designs. Should have several prototypes very soon. If all goes well then I will be going that direction. I want to do amps, but the market is overly flooded with amps as it is right now, but it is still playing around in the back of my mind.

But you don't think the market is flooded with subs? What would be your hook?

Yes, but not has horrible to be honest. If you get into the China subs then yes there are far to many out there. So the best option is to stay in the US but watch the $$. The real issue is not the "hook" but the product. US products always cost more so you have to make sure it is worth the price.

There is much more to choosing product, names, and "hooks"..then just posting about it. There is a fair bit of marketing and research that goes into it. Take the name of our other company for example..that was not just "thought up"..it was planned.

I will give you the dates, that can become an issue...however that is why it is at a cheaper price.
The comment on funds is false. All orders are prepaid or the build house will not build them. So all of those comments over the years are just false and simply not true. There are a few companies that try to sell items before they are built, but in reality most do not do this.

If you need an item right now then do not buy it and move on. It is obvious that at that time a "pre-order" is not for you. So please some one please give me solid reasons for hating on a "pre-order" I have been in this business for 15 years now and never once heard a good argument suggesting a "pre-order" is a horrible idea. From a business standpoint it is the single best thing a company can do with new product.
So if the order is prepaid and said company doesn't need to raise capital for the order, then what is the purpose of a pre-order???? Obviously it's not to gauge interest since you said the order has already been placed.

Makes NO sense from a business standpoint. Wait until product arrives and put it on the market at full price. Usuing Sundown as an example they are WELL established and have a big following, they don't need to offer products at a discount to sell them.

Cant cover order = Pre-Sale......

Discounted prices bring people out of the woodwork. Knowing you want the woofer/amp/whatever but its going to cost more later, tempts a lot of people in to a "buy it now" situation. Where as a product you know is going to be the same price a couple of months from now might can wait. Also just because they are well known on the internet doesn't mean that everyone knows them or their products. Plain and simple, preorders bring business not only by preorders, but also by getting more product out there in the real world. Makes perfect sense to me and I'm no business major.

That's my assumption also, but mr rabbit said all orders are pre-paid

Mehhh I am sry but Jacob, Rusty, Dick, Moe, Larry, care bout one thing and thats growing and profits... So the excuse well they are offering preorders to help out customers get a good product cheap is just an easy way to say plz help me fund this as I cant right now. So send me you $500 bucks and u might get amp in month or so who knows just sometime... If u cant afford to buy it yourself then dnt buy it seems simple enough to me...

I have to agree, you're not a business major //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

If you're in business to make a profit then it makes little sense to offer products at a discount BEFORE they're even available. I could see discounting old stock to make room for new stuff. But why would you put something new to the market on sale.

I could also understand a brand new company trying to get it's name out there, but with Sundown that's not the case.
