Disappointed.... at my new substage *AQ 15"s*

yeah try using each amp independently on the two subs and see if each one does something... if they both work separately then who knows haha

so you maxed the gain on both amps? I know that when I use the pass thru rca output on my orion 1200d's the second amp got 1/2 the rca voltage as the one that had the rca's directly plugged into it from the deck. I had to get a DMM that could test VAC and match correctly. is there a 180deg switch on your amps? make sure they are both set correctly

curious question.....where do you find a dmm that doesn't test vac....I can't find one

edit: and you are the second in 2 days saying yours didn't //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

My $1.00 DMM from harbor freight does VAC its usually denoted by some odd symbol that varies from each dmm. VAC has been on every dmm I have ever seen.

Sounds like you got way to complex of an install for your skills. Try hooking the pair of subs up to one amp, if that works add the second amp and trouble shoot from there.

although it does sound like the sub's are out of phase.

Just got off work 20 min ago and I havent touched anything since last night. Im going to try and diagnose why my one amp either isnt turning on, or isnt giving power. Just gonna bring my voltmeter out there.

If I cant get it to turn on. I'll simply run both subs off the one amp.

I DID, disconnect the daisy tail rca going to the retard amp and its remote on my way to work though, and it got ALOT louder, maybe what a sealed 10" would sound like, but I didnt turn it up much.

I really hope this other amp works though and my remote wire just doesnt have power or something.

Check back in an hour

did you....

hook up amp A with sub A

and then disconnect those and then....

hook up amp B with sub B

to make sure everthing works in the first place?

Probably means that they were out of phase and the amp works but the LED is burnt/not working.

Play with the wiring configs some, i had the same problem a couple times. AQ may have messed up on the red/black wires on the subs as well.

Easy fix, just took me over an hour to get to the amps wiring without scratching anything. Brutal

Wanna guess what it was?

One sub was out of phase.... I first figured out that the amp I thought wasnt even turning out was infact on and getting power everywhere. So I ran one sub off just that one amp and wired that temporarily, was moving, but at low volume I wasnt going to go by just excursion as a test. So I hit the invert switch over to 180*........ AND THE SUB CAME ALIVE! I checked my wiring at the subs and my connection are indeed correct to what AQ says is pos/neg.

So I dont know if AQ either labelled it wrong, or my Cadence amp has that function backwards. But i'll just leave it switched over to 180*

Now I gotta reinstall this shit.... what a pain

Thanks guys

Sounds pretty **** good, I didnt crank it past 1/2 volume but they hit pretty hard, about the same as my last setup of 15's, but these have less power and less box, but a higher tune. Ive only got like 20 min of playtime in them, hoping they loosen up and get louder though

On a positive note...going from mad cause your new subs sounded like crap (or so you thought) to BAM!! sounded great probably made them sound even better than they would have if you hooked em up right the first time just from the excitement

ya I felt like shit going to work this morning trying to think of what was wrong, then @ 8pm my heart sunk lol, I also hooked up my xbox at the same time and watched a movie with the subs playin on low, what a freakin experience lol
