Directed 2400d Amps

I've searched around and havent found many exact answers. I am wondering if this amp (the older models I believe), the ones Ike sound sell refurbed, puts out a true 2400 watts rms @2ohms? Also is it under or over rated and what voltage is it rated at. If anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated. Its just dam.... 2400 watts rms in a single amp for under $350 shipped //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif What kind of electrical requirements am I looking at... obviously something besides my stock battery and alt.

Same I've read when I searched. I know someone has to be 100% sure to the power ratings on these.

And where did you get your information from? Back when they were more popular, I knew several people who had them benched and proven to exceed printed output...

I wouldn't say they are overrated...and the directed and the viper are based on an identical board. Both owned and made by DEI.

umm, the viper doesnt put out its rated power either. buddy of mine has a pair, only gettin like 1500w out the pair. i kno wha im talkin about, the directed is an awesome amp, but i would juss get the viper instead, it does more power than directed does.

Well, that will be the case with any amplifier then, as you should know. And you cannot say it doesnt put out rated power because you have no proof

No one has shown physical evidence of a bench test, as it is with many amplifiers.
