direct lead hook ups

strip back wires 1 1/2", twist together and tape good. NO reason to do it any other way. I wouldn't use a butt connector because each time you pull the sub you'll have to cut it off and lose more wire...

Wire nuts are the best termination method you can use with those subs and they're inexpensive & readily available.

Just be sure to get nuts that are large enough for the three wires you plan to use. It's also a good idea to wrap the connection with quality electrical tape. ← Note the emphasis on quality. Cheap electrical tape just leaves a black sticky mess when it unravels from the connection... which usually happens the first time the temperature changes.

I recommend using 3M Scotch 35+ in any color other than black, as even the quality black tapes tend to leave behind a sticky mess when removed.

Wire nuts are made for thick strand wire like in house. They can not cut grooves into high strand count wire and don't work. You have to tape them on, so avoid the hassle and tape to begin with....

Wire nuts have conical threads. They compress and cut into whatever wires are inserted into them so long as the diameter of the wire bundle is correct for the nut being used. They work well on coarse, fine strand & solid conductors when used properly.

Tape is used to ensure that any stray strands or bare sections of wire do not touch one another.

ive been taping leads together for years and no issue yet. No need for a wire nut if you tape properly. and I would never use something i'd have to crimp on. I change setups/loads/wiring way too often to have to cut wires everytime.
