Digital Voltmeters...

They can be on and off sometimes. I have one plugged into my cigarette lighter, and i'll have my DMM on my amp. The DMM responds MUCH quicker to voltage drops when i play music/do burps. The plug in gauge is usually off from the DMM all around too. Most of the time my DMM reads higher.

One thing it does come in handy for is letting me know when my alternator shuts off because it drops to 12.8-13.0 volts pretty quickly. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I had one that was way off ... My battery was reading 14.5 volts and my alternator was reading 17.8 volts ...
One could only have wished that were true on a stock electrical system //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif
Yikes!, I've never seen a variation like that anywhere except factory gauges in a car.
