digital volt meter install

hey i bought the digital volt meter, how do i wire + and -, where should i wire it to turn off and on? i want to put it near my head unit. so i can see if volts drops or not. can i wires the positive to the power on the head unit and ground the - to the frame?

i bought that same one. i ran the + and - to my amp. it stays on even with the car off though i did not see no turn off wire or any thing.

thats pretty crappy. Every volt meter i have used had power, ground and remote turn on leads.

i was thinking about that but i don't think it draws that much power to be a problem. some one correct me if im wrong though.

but can i connect it to the head unit? i was thinking of installing the power wire with the power wire on the head unit and ground it. would it work? it says it has a turn on and off signal build with it.

i don't know but i have that exact one( from H&K right?) and it does not turn off when i turn my system or car off.

my fan would do the same thing, stay on when the car off

i wired the power (+) into the remote wire on the amp

wire it with the remote wire at the amp or at the hu. and just use the same grd as ur amp or hu

I got the same meter from Kent and I wired it straight to back battery.. Stays on all the time.. Doesn't hurt anything.. Uses very minimal voltage

alright that's good to know. i was worried about it draining my batt but figured its probably drawing barely anything.
