Digital map just not putting out power.

Hey everyone im new here but i do have a problem...

first ill tell u a bit about my car...i have an alpine head unit witch runs back to a kicker 4 channel..has front and rears running off of it... and that all works fine(sound comes out good and clean)..

Now i recently added a second amp (Digital Alpine v13 m300) to power a sub (alpine 10" type r duel 2 ohm)...bought a distribution block for the 4g from teh battery split it into 2 x 8g...i also bought a distribution block for my remote wire..I just bolted in a new ground.

This is where my problem comes in...both amps turn on and are running...the kicker is puttin out power and doing what it should...Now my alpine amp is woking...just not to any comparison to what it should.

Let me explain if i have my head unit set to 1.. u cant tell the subs on (or even hear it) but all my other speakers work fine and i can hear them fine but if i crank it to about 20 (head unit only gos to 30) and open the trunk i can see a bit of action from the sub.

anyone have any advice.

How's the gain on the sub amp set? What's the sub output level on the HU set to? Is the sub output turned on? What are your crossovers set to?

I have no idea about the digital amp..when i bought it and had it installed in my other car they set it all up...So i was assuming the setting would be lost (would reset when disconnected from power?)But the stock settings should still power the sub?...On my head unit i can have the sub set from 0 to + 15 and it dosnt change a thing, i do have ti set to mono, and yes its turned on.....when u say crossover u mean capacitor?

i dont know allot about car audio...basically enough to plug the stuff in...(apparently not)

No I mean crossover. It's there to keep a speaker from playing freq that you don't want it to.

If you didn't touch anything on the amp, there's your problem. You MUST set the gain on the amp to get any power from it. Most ship with the gain set to MIN. Your HU simply won't provide enough signal voltage to get much output from the amp. Chances are that the crossover on the amp is set to MIN as well meaning that only the lowest of freqs are even getting to the sub.

Please quit calling it a digital amp. There's nothing digital about it.

thats right outta the manual so i was under the impression it was digital ma bad i guess?
