Digital Designs 9518g, a little different?

I've looked up other photos of the DD 9518g and they all don't quite look like this. This one has a nice black finish on the top plate (looks professionally done) and it also has the cooling poles around the coil. (I think that is what you call them? Sorry for the lack of knowledge here). I looked at the sticker under the boot, and all it says is "DD 9518g" with a few other serial numbers etc.

Thank you guys for your time, and if I need to expand on anything else please let me know. Just trying to see what I bought here.

I dont think those spacers are offered from the factory, I could be wrong though.

It was sent to DD for a recone and they did it, and the guy never picked it up. Something along the lines of that. I got it from a shop. I'm unsure if they would work on a modified sub, but I also wouldn't doubt that those spacers aren't factory.

spacers have been used on AQ/DD subs, depends upon the basket style. You get this at Rich's shop? He sells DD but is an AQ hater LOL

I did get it from Rich sadly, but it was at such a steal of a price I seriously couldn't let it pass. Lately he has given up the Audioque thing, he finally doesn't ***** at anybody that runs it hahahaha.

looks to be like a older hdc3 18 basket on a dd 9518g motor . and who ever reconed it probably but the black finish on it whether it be professional or novice. looks excellent imo

That "older hdc3 basket" is just a standard 6 spoke. It's identical to the one I had on my SPLaudio 18, minus the black finish.

correct i seen them on alot of the underground sub 18s omega, aq, dc, etc

The six spoke basket on this generation of the 9518 is standard, was not added.

It looks like it's missing the cooling channels on the top plate.

There was two versions of those motors iirc. They changed them mid year for whatever reason.
