Which two have you owned?

The two Sony HD (30 and 60) both get great reviews. They both have amazing zoom lenses and lots of features and I like the touch screans. Sony is always rated high when it comes to digital camcorders whether it be Mini DVD, HD and ect.. I believe you can get the 30 for $600 and the 60 for $800. For 1500, you could get the Sony harddrive HD model.

JVC GZ-HD7 and Sony HDR SR1. The jvc gets noisy and had lots of artirfacts at full resolution. It is a 3ccd, but they're 1/5in, they should have incorporated 1/3in and just raise msrp a couple of hundred dollars. Then it would do better in low light.

The sony with the bullshit sony made"carl ziess" lense sucks. The zoom was rough, the cam physically i got sick of. Its just way too compact. did better in low light than the jvc, but the jvc had overall better frame quality.

if you want to get a good, solid compact hd camcorder look at the canon hv20 and get a wide angle lense for it. I have used it, its the best compact hd i have ever used.
