Digital amp. Yes or Not?

well, i got my mtx1004 couple of days ago and my friend told me he gonna by some digital pioneer amp. But he has no idea what is it (same as me). What about true digital?

Well, Pioneer had (has in some countries, possibly still in Ireland) the Optical Digital Reference series. Those amps accepted digital input, though I believe beyond that (and the digital/analog convertor) they were just typical class A amps. Those are very expensive amps though, as well as the rest of the ODR gear by Pioneer. So, unless he is going VERY high end, I doubt that's what he was buying.

Other than that, sounds like he might simply be talking about a regular old class D amp. http://www.caraudiomag.com/specialfeatures/0111cae_anatomy/index.html - This article describes the different amp classes
