difrence between 22hz ported and 33hz ported?

Remember in chopping a lot of the port off this is going to raise the box size which could lower power handling.....

I'm sure you thought of all that, just wanted to remind you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

nah that isnt gonna help, Ive messed with all the settings

its in the box

ive tried to seal it using the old shirt method, sounded muddy.

The largest sealed box recommended by ID is 1.5 cubes

Can you just put a few 2x4 blocks inside the box to see what that does?

I'm no expert, but I seem to remember a smaller box will raise the tuning frequency ... so, temporarily putting a couple 2x4 blocks in there would effectively make it a smaller box. I don't think you'd need to change the port. I guess if you found a combination you like, you could even just glue/ screw the blocks down inside the box, anywhere except near the port.

Am I wrong about this??

well the 2.5 cubes is the box before displacement

so im figuring the port with the entire box ,not after displacment

a 4" dia x 8 " will give me 35hz

4" dia x 6.5 will give me 38hz

so I think I will be ok, at worst ill make a new box

a single 4" port tuned at 35hz in a box around 2.5 cf will be above the recommended port velocity from about 55hz down, and more than double in the low 40's and down, ie you will have significant port noise.

That's assuming 1000w rms.

You'd need more like 2 4" ports, or a slot.
