Diffrence in HO Alts.

I was getting ready to replace my alt. I can a 200amp for $212 and a 250amp for $389. Is there a huge diffrence in the 50 charging amps?

Also depends on the amps @ idle

im going to be using a HK4000D, hc2400 in the trunk and possibly and hc14 or 1800 under the hood....i called both places to find all the diffrences

the 200AMP alt will do 105 charging at idle

the 250 alt will do 140 and has a pulley to optimize idle.

IF the 250 unit does an actual 140 at idle i would go that route.

200a for $212 though? what company is this?

I have talked to Dave I think his name was at DB.They seem to be alright and know what they are doing.Haven't seen them a whole lot in the CA scene though.

Ok so im still trying to figure out is this going to be worth it

the 250 actually only puts out 120 at idle and cost $170 more...Im going to be doing two runs of 1/0 to a 9a31 and a hc1400 up front. Should i spend the extra 170 for 15 extra amps at idle and 50 at 1200-1500 rpm?? I dont think its worth it...im going to have the gains set at around 2500-2700rms if it will even push that out...
