Diffrence between LEDS and Neons?

everything. i know the differnces. but i would have a hard time getting it across the webz. someone might find a link that would explane it better.

underglow? LED can change color while neon stays only one. Also LED can do patternts. I like neon better though because the glow looks better imo

indeed. i like the glow off of the neon under car kits, but the led's put up with more abuse.

LED is a Diode...hence the name light emiting diode...as nean is a gas that has an electric charge go through it. Neon mi gases mixed with other chemicals creat the diffrent colors.

and needs a transformer to get going. led's don't. thats just one less thing to go bad IMO.

True, but Neon does have a better glow pattern. IMO I think LED is to concentraded into one spot

Alright so if im looking for just one color Neons are the way to go ? I noticed there alot cheaper and was just wondering the main reason. Thanks for the tips guys.

Would you think that blue would look sweet ? Or Red?

LEDs consume less power, are more pure in light color and have "instant on/off" which is good for strobing or flashing effects.

The newer "chip" LEDs don't have the spot pattern typical of the 5mm/3mm models.
