Differences between Excelon and Non Excelon Kenwood's

Can anyone shed some light on the differences between the Excelon and Non-Excelon Kenwood head units. Specifically the KDC-X889 and KDC-MP828?? They look pretty much identical except the colours on the face plate are slightly different. Anything else different about them?

Excelons have a 2 year warranty, not sure on anything else thougn, the 828 might not have the additional time alighnment features of the 889.

i had an 828 that got stolen, anyway the 889 has 24 bb dac also it has 24/ oct crossover settings

the 828 goes to 18
