Differences between 34hz and 38hz

Higher tones are "louder," but when people say you sacrifice sound quality, it's usually because to reinforce those higher tones for SPL, you give up low end extension so there is a sharp rolloff below tuning. SQ guys still need to hit 40hz, they just happen to be as loud at 33 as they are at 44 (usually), and 55, 66. That's what having "flat" response curve is. It's a straight line across all the useable bass the frequencies. If you see an SPL response curve, there is usually a peak somehwere around tuning and then sharp rolloffs before and after that frequency.

you will loose alot of low freq extension, meaning it wont go as low or deep. all depends what ur going for. if ur never going to comps do 34hz for sure it will sound alot better.

with a 34hz box , u will be hitting pretty much all the bass and will also be pretty heavy sounding

and with a 38hz box, some bass notes would be very peaky and louder sounding , but overall the bass will sound like a fire cracker which is loud as hell but no real "heavy" feeling.

but this dpends from sub to sub and the cabin gain...
