Difference between SPL and window flexing bass?

When I am going for spl I play the tone my car is and my box is tuned to. When everything is just right I get some harmonics going and my car "buzzes". The air feels thick and the car and glass seems to pulse.

Flex I just put on music crank it up and my hatch bulges 4 inches.

That's what I thought.

Problem is, you need a HUGE port to get into the ~20hz range for real flexing.

I ran 32hz which is what my box is supposed to be tune to and it did that "buzzing" think. I just don't like that much though, too many rattles.

Is there any? To my knowledge, SPL is just really loud music running at like 50-60hz.
So when making a box, is SPL what you want in reality for window flexage?

I still have A LOT to learn about audio. gimme a break!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

i peak at 49hz in my car the higher the tone the more buzzing but once i start to get down into the 32-40hz range thats when shit starts to flex and twist. my car is walled and once the flexing starts on the low tones the seats usually start to jump forward, doors bulge out, winshield starts bouncing but in general i prefer the higher tuning

High SPL can make a lot of flex, but more flex doesn't necessarily mean more SPL. It tends to be easier to make a lot of flex with a low note and low SPL than it does it with a higher note and higher SPL.
