Difference between 4 and 2 ohm

The higher the ohms, the less power it will draw from your amp.

If your amp is 1 ohm stable and 1000 watts, the 4 ohm speaker will only run around 250 watts, 2 ohm sub will be around 500, 1 ohm will recieve the full 1000.

It is a lot more complex than this, but this is the general idea.

I'm tired of typing

Think of ohms as the thickness of a hose.

A big number means a smaller hose.

A small hose will not let a lot of water (watts) through it.

A big hose will offer the least resistance to flow.

OHM = resistance

cause i think both mine are 4 ohm and i got a 1000 zx running to each one turned all the way up and i feel i should b gettin more fom the amps

You could be getting the same amount of power from them both being hooked up to the same amp, the second amp was wasted $$ //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
