Good afternoon everyone,

Having a problem with my amp. It does not appear to be getting any power as the light is not on and subs are not doing anything.

Backstory amp (https://www.crutchfield.com/S-BfFjf5ByXuT/p_130GMD8601/Pioneer-GM-D8601.html) was in my 03 corolla. Engine died and shut off on highway got car towed etc and bought an 88' Mazda 323. Moved sub and amp over and got it all setup and now the amp does not appear to be turning on. Anything else I can check and any other info you guys need to help me out?

should have noted i already used multimeter confirmed that power is hot.

edit to confirm i did this right. I touched positive red to power wire and touched black to car.

There's 3 wires you need to check, you checked 2 already.

Check the remote turn on, it should have +12v when referenced to ground with the headunit/key on

You should be using the ground at the amp's terminals to confirm that is also solid.   Check the rem+ for 12V when your head unit is on.   If you have +12 at the B+ terminal and Rem terminal and a good ground and the amp isn't powering up your amp is dead.    Does it have internal fuses?   Have you tested the fuses (fuses can look intact but be opened)

https://ibb.co/yhCGMw1 tested power at this point. Blue is power off battery/fuse and red is where i have the amp grounded. 14.4V on DMM.

Replaced fuses even though they looked good last night.

How do I check Rem terminal.

Surely that red wire connected to the trunk lid isnt your ground wire??? Take the amplifier out of the car.Go to the car battery.Remove both 40 amp fuses and check see if they arent blown/replace them. Prepare the ground connection wire at the amplifier and prepare  another for the positive and the remote wire connection. wire the remote to the positive and connect both to the positive post on the battery, and then connect the ground to the ground on the battery. If it lights up, its working/powering on.You can take it and have it tested at a local audio shop for about $20-30 bucks for performance. If that red wire on the trunk lid is your ground wire, find another solid grounding point such as the body frame.

Replaced both fuses already.
That is how i set it up in the corolla but I can find a better spot fairly easily.

I will test at the battery when I get  a moment in a bit.

That "ground" is terrifying.   Also the + terminal on the amp is supposed to be connected to the + terminal of your battery, ideally with some better wire than what you're using.  the little terminal between the - and + on the amp should connect to a little blue or blue/white out of your head unit and should see +12V when you power up the head unit.

Yes, it was designed with the help of Steve at Amp Medics. They are great amps, I have many friends that run them.

Send it means play it. I didn't say send it back. I'm sure it's fine.
