did it. kicker gone.

This is the place for everyday people who like car audio. They should not feel ashamed just because they, like probably most people who come here, have a pre-fab box. Most people who have aftermarket audio use a pre-fab. Is it the best sound? Probably not, in most cases. You like your music and set-up. Personally, I care not what equipment you use or music you like...but if you have a question, or seek an opinion..all should offer, if they have it.
100% Agree with you on that. BUT look at most the active people on here then look at a site like DIYMA... You will see the difference. Here we have SPL winners, there they have SQ winners.

Keep_hope_alive is a very talented audiophile. I see Wenn talk more then do so IDK about him. And the Hertz are the **** for sure. Prob the best choice I have ever made.
I've got something going right now, little experiment. I just havn't posted about it.

Edit: and I did happen to be running a horn until yesterday.

eh, good point..lol. Kinda like that JL vid posted the other day.. I bet there was some useful info in there, but about 30 minutes of the listening guys doing the vid was all I could stand.
Ive seen it before. Never watched it all but its all basic to us info. Any installer should already know but most dont. I feel that guy needed to get locked in Pipo's truck, then he will get some flee market beat out of him

now, to actually contribute to the thread.

I used to run some l7 15's in my blazer. 7ft ported right at window line. I was right at the 150 range on music sealed legal. That was running 2500rms each (give or take) They will get loud, you just need to learn how to use them.

Then I got a 12'' T2, I liked the sub apart from the cone. It's way soft so it will not like more then rms with out going way small on enclosure size. After abusing it for a while the cone started to separate from it's self and make horrible noises. So I ripped it apart to find a pretty **** nice motor. I wish I would have kept it for a HT sub.

If you really want to see what the t1's will do you need to design an enclosure around your car and subwoofers to work in unison. For instance the enclosure I'm working on now won't even play music outside of my car.

here is the motor inside of a T2

DCtc's reference to the JL vid and yes, your refernce to "Learning how to use them"

...that is a big motor.

as for l7's, i have never seen a prefab big enough. even the dual sub prefabs are typically smaller than optimum for a single. in a custom enclosure, one l7 can kill the 2 rf's in the prefab. now, i have seen many, especially the rf prefab perform with some decent efficiency at low power levels, but really **** the bed on real power. only prefab i stand behind is the obcon godzilla...
