I burnt a 40 hz sine wave to a cd, I hope it was 0db, it just came from the Audacity tone generator. Then, I turned all the bass stuff down, turned the volume to 3/4, etc. I left the speaker wires in when I probed it, is that really that big of a deal?
Anyway, I have I'm currently running 400 RMS @ 4 ohms, so I plugged that into the subwoofertools.com calculator and got 40v... But the amp says its mono block, but it has 2 channels. I think it just automatically splits the wattage if you have 2 subs hooked up so I don't have to worry about changing the voltage because of that.
The reason I'm asking all of this is because when I got the amp, the gains were way low... now it's nearly 3/4th of the way to the end, and I'm kinda scared I'm clipping the hell out of it. Did I do anything wrong?
If you wanna help go for it, save it if you're gonna be a dick.
