Did i have too high of expectations?

Oh yeah when i first designed the box i was gonna do single baffle. then i decided to double it up. so your right it ended up being 14.25 i just looked at the original numbers i came up with lol.

Okay i will try the settings again. I did just realize im using the lpf on the hu and amp so maybe changing that'll do something. Thanks for the responses. Sadly i probably wont be able to build another box as money is tight when you're an 18 year old single parent. Thanks again tho.

I've got an SE12 in a 2.3 CUFT box tuned to 33Hz being pushed by a Treo 750.1 and it pounds. I have the port on the same surface as the sub tho....not sure how much that has to do with it. It's the first set up I've had that made Jeezy's Soul Survivor sound great. IDK what the problem is. I think you may be expecting a little too much from a single 12.

Just ran the numbers on the box, and they are close enough to 2cu ft @ 32hz.

1) box build well? no leaks?

2) check amp settings, make sure you dont have you subsonic set too high specifically

3) check headunit settings, filters

4) what kind of car do you drive?

1 yes its my first box but i thought it was good. no leaks. i used heavy duty loctite, silicon, and a lot of screws.

2 fixed at 25 hertz

3 will do

4 large 4 door 2000 bonneville, center console in back folds down to access trunk so i keep that down it makes it a lil louder.

If this helps at all the low notes shake the shit outta my whole car but they sound really flappy and not like music.

well for one that has nothing to do with it. sht ive beaten 2 15"s, 2 12"s, 3 tens, and a single eighteen. with my single 12" that peaks at 41 hz. a single 12 can get loud. its all in the install. instead of saying stupid reasons why he disappointed give him hope that he can make it louder. its all in the box.
while its true you can get a single 12 loud, its alot harder to get it to hit the lows the same as 2 12s. ive had a single 12 hit 148 but had to give it *** loads of power and a low tuned box to get it to hit the lows.

op, that bottom note on put on is very low and unless you tune lower or get more cone area, it will be hard to hit it. go back to your box and make sure everything is sealed up and there are no leaks anywhere. also, are the corners of the port rounded and 45s in place? i have noticed that helps with the low notes as well.

To alpine4life: the se is actually a shit ton louder than the 2 p2's. it just doesn't get loud real low.

Csu87: Ill recheck the box. Do you mean rounding the port opening? And i didn't do 45's I didn't realize that did anything except make the corner stronger. I will keep those in mind for someday when i build another box. Thanks.

With that amp your single SE shouldn't be hitting harder than those P2's. And of course the SE doesn't get real low, it's not a large enough sub to hit the lows that well by itself. I can go unhook one of my subs right now and it would sound nearly identical to both on some notes, but when i play those low rap songs that shake stuff, it will sound like shit. You can't expect much from a weak sub like that bro. Get another one.

Yeah, that last note is in the mid-upper 20's IIRC...gotta tune lower to really get it.
Holy shit balls. I guess I had no idea it was that low. I just downloaded this thing called Sonic Visualiser and its actually shows the frequency and it looks like its 24 or 25 hertz. Thats sick.
