Did Big 3 Plus New Batterys Alt Not Cuttin It

I grounded mine to the bottem frame... same chassis i did my big 3 ground on.

I actually did a body lift on my truck so i couldn't ground on body or it would be crap... But ya I donno what you driving but if its a unibody or car probably not much difference..

Just drill a hole under the seat and under the carpet... Theres already that thing that supports holding the frames together to bolt on the ground

I had the same bad voltage drops before when I had only a 0 ga ground from the rear batt to body. I got rid of that ground and added the run of 0 ga ground from front to back and when I'm boomin at 2200 watts there's no drops, it stays over 14 volts at all times. But that extra ground did help when I was pushing it up around the 4000 watt area.
So running the negative from the battery up front to the battery in back is a great idea....do you still ground the back battery, or does wiring it up to the battery in the front take care of that?

I only use the second ground in the back for my comp system, with only 2000 watts it's fine and get no voltage drops. But with my comp system I don't sit in the vehicle to rev the engine and the amp is putting out 4000+ watts, so with that set up I get the voltage drop and he extra ground helped.

I used an empty hole and use a big *** bolt /w nut on other side for my big 3 ground up front. You see the small stock ground comming off the alt case? Well look about 3 inches above that... I use that hole and then from there went up to the stock alt casing as my engine block. But leave those stock grounds too And in the back theres already a bolt there at bottem of frame for amp/back bat whatever...

Alright been busy last few days but have been driving alot and been SLAMMIN!! Noticing more voltage drops in the 12.9s and shlt so today im gonna hook up my old wet bat in the back and see if it does te same thing as my odyssey did... Hopfully not and ill get another bat for back there.. And for all that been waiting for pics ill have up tomarrow allong with a vid as well.. Sorry took so long just busy.

Well hooked up my old wet cell in the back and both bats read 14.4 so i hooked up my odyssey again and again both bats read 14.4 so took it up to autozone and had them check out my alt and bats... Bats good... Alt did pass but not putting out high volts or amps... think it was runnin 13.8 when he put the load on and tested so my alt is TAKING A CRAP... Ima run it til i fry my alt.. got lifetime warranty and hopfully ima have a shop i know beef it up... Will takes pics/vids tomarrow

Alright made a quick vid of my big 3 and a run threw of my system. Didn't do any of system in action because that cam doesnt have sound... But my buddy did post a few vids on SMD but not very good ones... Alright well here they are...

Thats pretty good, I took my alt to AutoZone and had it tested, I asked if they could tell me how much it was putting out and they said they're tester only says if it works or doesn't. Some good battery chargers will tell you if your battery has a bad cell or not, I know PowerMaster has one.

Ya they tested my bat first and its good and stuff but then they tested everything and my alt with the load on it was peaking at 13.8volts... so its starting to go out... not out yet tho.. Ima go talk to a shop close to me that rebuilds shit and see how much it will be to rebuild mine to like 200+amps and set the voltage at 14.7 at all times bout the only thing i need. Then i can run my back bat... I would run it now but dont wanna get stranded somewhere lol although i do have AAA = )

Your alt when it gets hot, it will internally back off out put to accommodate for the heat. The internal regulator controls it when hot or batteries are to full. Adding a second battery will be overall better than dropping in voltage and the alt having to keep up. If you placed the battery in the back off the shelf , try giving it a charge before you install it so your alt doesn't have to compensate for it from the start. Hope this helps.

My odyssey already charged though floatin at 13.0 so iunno... i felt the alt and it was hella hot.. you think the regulator will kick it before it burns up?
