One of the guys I work with has an 05 F-150 Crew Cab. He has always liked Kenwood, and his truck is going to be our Kenwood Demo Vehicle.

Did a cut-through into the bed of his truck today, finished it bout halfway through the day.

It has three Kenwood Excelon 13" subwoofers. And Three Kenwood Excelon X1R amplifiers. I Built and designed the box yesterday, it is 13ply voidless marine grade birch, downfiring at an angle, and features three separate sealed chambers, and a loading baffle on the bottom.

Few pics, will update as setup continues. It was just thrown in today... not even permanent yet.

Could easily do it with 2 18's. Our overall width was 46" so more than enough space.

They're downfiring at an angle, and the cut-through it the exact size of the opening of the mouth of the bottom loading baffle.

He only had one amplifier hooked up to one sub before he left after lunch... and it sounded GREAT. Excellent SQ and good output for one sealed sub, enough to make is headliner and console flex some...

IMO, downfiring is the only way to go in a cut-through... if possible.

your thoughts on the Kenwood stuffs.
Looks like quality work.
These were Kenwood's flagship subwoofers 2-3years ago. Retailed ~$900.

They sound excellent, and look excellent. I should have snapped a few close up pics of them out of the box. They are MONSTROUS... weigh 38lbs a piece. They have a motor inside basket design, and have a unique rear suspension on the rear of the former... I guess to keep it linear.

It will help noticeably. Make sure to seal off the rear of the angle...

I think you take the worst pics ever.

Back on topic...I don't think I'd ever have big enough cajones to cut my truck like that.
