I went over to a buddies house Saturday and we decided to quench our thirst for audio and did a test with a few different set ups...
The items used were:
One TermLab metered from the dash.
One slot ported box.
Two dual 2 H2 12's
Two dual .9 VFL 12's
Two Orion 2500d's
Two SoundStream 6500's
One Memphis Mojo amp
I have a CRX with a yellow top up front and two Kinetik 2400 batteries out back, and we had a car charger on the set up the entire time to make sure the voltage stayed the same for all burps. We made sure by using a multi meter of course //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.
This was not really a test to see what woofers were louder, but more-so to see what the differences in amps were. A few of us thought the 2500d was stronger than the Mojo, and vice versa, and we threw the SoundStream in there just to see how much it would crush lol...
Here we go.
Two H2 12's + one 2500d @ .5 ohm = 148.67
Two H2 12's + one Mojo @ .5 ohm = 148.26
Two H2 12's + one SS 6500 @ .5 ohm = 149.18
volume maxed @ 16 out of 40 on my Pioneer deck.
peak frequency was 50hz
Two VFL 12's + one SS 6500 @ .9 ohm = 148.67
volume maxed @ 25 out of 40 for the VFL and one 6500.
peak frequency was 64hz
Two VFL 12's + two SS 6500 @ .45 ohm = 151.22
Two VFL 12's + two 2500d's @ .45 ohm = 150.43
volume maxed @ 17 for the SS and 16 for the 2500d.
peak frequency still 64hz
Two H2 12's + two 2500d @ 1 ohm = 149.4
volume maxed @ 17, frequency 50hz.
Anyways... if anyone has interest in these results then its some cool time wasting reading material.
Bottom Line
SoundStream 6500 > Orion 2500d > Memphis Mojo
Just like I thought //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I did however expect the Mojo to keep up a bit more with the 2500d and I expected the SS 6500 to out-do both by a larger amt...
