just wondering as i have 1500w of power and the sub is rated at 750-800w(the tech sheet says pwr=750 and pe-800, so I'm a little confused). Its got 3" voice coils.

Just not sure how much it should handle in 3 cubes?

So far I'm up to 28.5VAC(1ohm~800w) on a -6db test tone(50hz). Played it real hard for a bit and dont smell anything.

You guys talk about getting hot, how do you tell? Feel the cone after awhile?

I was guessing that 1000w should be no prob for it. I only saw 1 other old thread about the 12's and said something about them taking 900-1000w all day but dont know what size box.

I installed one a few weeks ago. I built the box about 4cf, tuned @ 29.

Amp used is the Audiopipe ap1000d. Not sure on actual power, but everyone seems to believe those are something close to rated.

All i can say was the slammage is pretty astounding for $400 total.

The only reason I went with 1kw is because I thought it was a great buy, but the sub seems to eat it up.

I see no reason to go with any more power than that.

you can tell when its being over driven, i can anyway
well I can prob tell also but was just looking for some numbers. Also while playing a test tone DMM'ing the amp it jumps fast from where its at ~28vac to like 36vac(talkin sliver of turns here)

Yeah I got a great deal on mine also, was thinking of going with the ap1500 which would have put me just over $300, but instead I went with the MB Quart 1500 for $350 total

But yeah it slams good and sounds good also, just flexes the crap out of the trunk and roof:nutskick:

I also bought 2x new 12" Type R's, and this was going to be a temp setup, but I can only muster 3.75cubes before subs/port so I may just play around with another box/aero port. Prob going to list the Type R's on craigslist or ebay
