Diamond Audio Setup??

Do u guy on here think it is worth it to buy a pair of d661s component speakers for 200 and a diamond d5300.2 amp for 150? all new. ALso, would this setup be a big step up from viper components . WHat do they compare to?

well personal expierence with diamond audio, I have to say they are some of the best components ive heard....I would compare them with focal, rainbow....but nothing exactly alike.....I have the s600s comps and I love them, diamond audio is known for sound quality....and there amps are some of the best, they dont have gimmicky features, they are nothing but a great powerful, true to power amps...never had any expierence with viper comps...couldnt tell you if it a big step up......... oh by the way heres a good deal on those comps http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=32819&item=5784957131&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

Viper was DEI's flagship line... but Diamond components do sound **** nice.

yeah im startin to like these diamonds i have now even tho they are 4inch comps i think im goin with diamonds for my next set as well so hell yea its worth it.

I have Diamonds and I am NOT impressed at all. I actually think mine are total garbage but they could be blown.....

People interested in Diamond speaks should look into the silk option tweets for a better, more enjoyable listening experience...the aluminums are quite harsh and belong no where near ear level, should be in kicks IMO- horrible off axis. No wonder the new D6 ,replacement to the M6's, come in braxial form.

Hex's/M6's aluminum versions have been the hardest speaks to work with from my experience. The midbass response for such power hogs that they are was nice, sharp- BUT quite lacking in output.

From the few new D6 setups we've put together they've made improvements as far as midbass is concerned. I'd look into the new stuff.

As far as amps go- D5's are solid, problem free.
