this is my first post in this forum but dont take me for a noob... around trucks anyway. but when it comes to audio im an idiot. haha. i was hoping you all could help change that. so heres my big problem.

Im looking at subs. and im open to any suggestions. remember im on a budget... im 17. but anyways. i drive a 2005 Silverado Regular Cab!! so i dont have much room. i was looking at two 10 inch jl audio w3v3's. and i dont no much about amps but i want one that will make my system sound nicer thean the generic infinity system. for my mids and highs i was thinkign about memphis audio. although i havnt found anywere that sells them ive just seen them in alot of show trucks..

the sizes of speakers (according to crutch field) that my truck can accomidate are....

door panel:::

6-3/4"

6-1/2"

or

5-1/4"

Rear Pillar::::

4"x6"

4"

thanks guys and please i need some help

forget the rears in a reg. cab chevy, instead focus on a good pair of components for the front, a decent HU and a decent 2 channel amp. Your sub-stage can happen down the road and you can get better pieces for your front stage.

i actually bought a system for 700 bucks but i kinda dicked myself on the amp, thats the only thing i need to upgrade. i got a PA a1000db amp for about 185 and a 15" tc-3000 for 430 with shipping... so id say around 700, but you can go single sub and still have a very good system. look at ascendantaudio.com ficaraudio.com soundsplinter.com and tcsounds.com all very very good drivers.

you can go with 1 12 inch sub and thatll be plenty loud, dunno about mids nd stuff though

if you want some memphis subs i have some nice memphis power reference 10's. i have a total of 4 but can sell by the pair or single. They are dual 4's. 120 shipped for 2, 65 shipped for 1 and 200 shipped for the 4

well ya i kinda just quit my job but im going in for an interview today. if anyone has ever herd of tweeters the store. i got an estimate from them about 2 subs an amp and a box. haha (just for kicks) and they tried to charge me $983. i was like bump that shit ill take my buisness somewere else. but anyways any suggestions for componets? or are the alpine S's good im kinda between them or memphis. ive3 herd diamond is good too. but i just dont no what to go with.

thanks

ya ive been thinking about either the pioneer touch screen retractable display head unit. or the alpine head with the white bar on the bottom that you can scroll through ur mp3s with. i cant remember the name of it right off the top of my head. I plan on keeping this truck way past collage and turning it into a show truck. do those ascadent audio subs hit pretty hard? harder thanthe w3's?

did u see the sizes i posted on my first post? and also id really like to put 2 in the pillars to since there right next to my ear. literally! ill take some pics when i get home. and post em up.

Don't do it. Trust me. It screws up the stereo imaging. I've got an 01 reg. cab. I put 6.75" components up front and dropped the rear speakers altogether. It can be very loud and will sound good doing it. Take the cash you would have spent on the rear speakers and buy some sound deadening to put in the doors and it will sound even better.
