Dell laptops.. Worth the price...

worth the price...
until it explodes in your lap.

HAHAHAHAHAHA
you realize the problem was with the Sony batteries not the laptop //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Dell was the only ones that did a recall even though several other companies used the same batteries. Good luck on the other companies that dont give a shit about their customers.

if you do buy a dell... MAKE SURE YOU PAY THE $10 FOR A XP DISK... iirc they dont come with a copy of XP anymore unless you pay $10 for it..
Worth it.. cuz the first thing you should do when you get a dell (or any PC) is wipe the mofo and start fresh.. without all their shit *** bloated crap..
ehh I have a drawer full of the pro disks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I am guessing pirated right?

Bloated software is usually programs that just take up space on your HDD and memory that can be easily removed after a fresh reformat using the supplied ($10 Disk) re-installation CD.

After this, your notebook will run quicker and won't have a bunch of useless Dell icons sitting on your desktop.

gotcha.. I appreciate ur reply but am still a lil confused.. Do i delete everything dell sent me? Or everything from the computer in general? All i want is for it to be vista ready and have at least a 80 GB HD

I have a Dell Inspiron 5150. Its got a Pentium 4 3ghz, came with 512mb of ram but I upgraded to 1.25 gigs, 80 gig hardrive, 15" display (1600x1200), XP pro. All that was $2k. And the only problems ive had were the jack for external speakers became loose so you have to wiggle it around sometimes, and my hd took a shit like 2 days before my warranty expired. lol.

I think its a good laptop, but im going with apple for my next one.

I'm having reliability issues with my Dell three years after I got it...power connector went bad, so don't skimp out on the warranty //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif And I checked on prices of AC adapters...they want $300 for a power cable? WTF? It's just a 19.5V @ 8A supply, yet they charge $300 for it. I don't know if other companies **** you like that or not.
Also, my laptop weighs close to 10 pounds ,so I echo faulkton's comments - you will get a nice workout though if you carry it around a lot //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
sony does the same thing, was 248 for my power connector

Dell laptops are decent, it's what I usually tell everyone to get. I personally have an IBM thinkpad, great notebooks... they are lenovo now, don't know if the quality has changed.

I really want to check out the new mac ibooks, look excellent and i keep hearing great things about them.

When you get the computer, it'll come with a manual on how to reformat the computer.

Basically it'll remove every unnecessary program that you have on your computer. You won't have to remove them separately because thats what the reformat will do for you.

It's exactly like installing a new OS.
