Deep batts won't hold charge...

my brother had a battery that rested at 12.4v (lead acid), i put a standard 12v headlamp bulb on the battery and it instantly dropped to 9v.

take it off back up to 12.4v.

that is a bad cell, you cant measure it with a volt meter unless you put a load on the battery.

also the battery can just put out less current. If it cant start a car its probably junk

Not a dead cell. Batteries with dead cells don't rest at 12v. They rest around 10v.

In the situation you mentioned, the battery may have a weak cell, but it's not a dead cell.

If they are not holding a charge, they are not any good..I let my truck set for approx 4 months due to working, and it cranked right up no problem during the cold azzed weather

Yeah I think I will just keep them on the charger for a night. Then go from there. They will be in the back. I've had 2 in my truck since I got them. 1 under the hood and 1 in the back. The one under the hood has mdf around it. I haven't had any problems with em them. But at the same time I only have a 1600 my quart amp...I just sold my bike so I hope I can get a m4 soon and send my 9500 motor off
