Decent 6.5" mids that aren't too expensive?

I have come to a realization that my stock mids are too under powered with 50w rms tweeters and a 700w rms d4 sub.

There is a lot of mid range that I am losing vs my computer speakers - it really changes the song....

I have the stock mids on a 2010 HHR. They are powered by the head unit.

Now I noticed the stock tweeters are a LOT louder and clearer on an amplifier. Should I just cross the mids at 50 and 2000 and run them on an amp as well? (tweets are crossed at 4k), sub is crossed from sub amp)

Crossover is an optimus something.

Your midrange crossover choices are going to be very stressful on the low end and the high end will leave a null right in the critical midrange region. I don't like those crossover frequency choices for the tweeter and the upper end of the midrange, but I would set them both to 4K. 90 Hz is a lot more reasonable on the low end for a regular 6.5" mid woofer.
