It's not just that. I've had the cheap stuff. It's just always disappointing and a waste of time and money. Like Jeff said, jump it up a bit and it gets better. Do it right the first time.

It's not that I don't want to spend a little more but I'm an old newb at this and I hate reading where someone just spend $500 on a set of speakers and the next post is " you could have gotten the same or better sound with these $50 speakers". That's why I said $100.
