Its a big selection but im just looking for exactly the right way to go.

My setup is going to be backed by a 1600Watt 4 Channel Amp.

No sub-woofer.

Looking for loud sounds, good with all genres and something that can really listen to without my ears hurting from distortion.

Well in my case the PPI Would be way over powered. also 89dB is a little low for me.

How about the ones i listed, anyone have any input on them? Any comments or experiences?

I just jumped on the ID CTX65CS. I hear they are better than most 6.5s at that price range. You can grab them used for between $115-$130 and new for $150-$180.

What amp and are you going to use all four channels for one set? How many watts RMS per channel (@ 4 ohm) is the amp rated? The PPI set will take a lot more than what they are rated. People are running them here at 200+ RMS. I'm running 80 watts RMS to them and I want to do more.

Why are you not considering Alpine? I have heard the Type R set compared to some of the ones you listed and I thought they sounded better. You could get the Type X for under $200 which is even better. Have you listened to the speakers?

I think the PPI set is the way to go at this price point but I have a set and I'm biased.

AQ set is $200 and could be added into the mix. Also a guy on CACO has a BNIB alpine SPX17-PRO set for around that price...
