deadening

I know your gonna say to use the search function.

But I have a different question that doesnt appear to have been covered.

Say for example I get dynamat.

What size sheets would be recommended to help minimize speaker vibration and such?

I see that I could get a 10x10 pack just for the speakers. Or I could get one thats 12x36 or even 24x30 for what i assume would be the doors.

Should I just use enought to surround the speaker. Or should I just buy a crap load and try and cover my whole door? It vibrates like crazy and its annoying.

Cover the whole door if you can afford it.

But, what are you using for speaker pods? (I.E. enclosures for the speakers)

Or did you just wanna cram deadener in the holes?

Im talking about the frontstage in my car.

I have 6x8's in the doors. I havnt sealed the door or anything. I just screwed them in and left it at that.

Certain frequencys make the doors vibrate and it makes the music sound like poo.

Dynamat is overrated, IMO. It's like the JL of deadeners.
No, it's one of the best in the business. They can charge $1 or $1000, it doesn't change the fact that it's a proven, effective product.

I'd get Rammat or if you are on a budget, get R-Blox from ebay.
Both are garbage. Dynamat Extreme is miles above and beyond both. Both would have trouble competing with the original, even.

Damplifier pro is the best out of all of them. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

You've officially been entered into 'the most silly posts of the year' contest. Congrats. Keep up the ignorance and good luck.

to Foxpro5 umm sound deadener showdown buddy, second skin beat out dynamat in allmost every catagory and so did rammat bxt, now dynamat extreme on the other hand is about as good as second skin damplifier pro but ohh yea second skin is much less, so why would you pay more for somthing thats just as good? i dont think you know what your talking about, but neither do i, ive only personally used rammat bxt and damplifier pro, and ive only seen and heard dynamat installs,

You're probably right. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Don doesn't do damping testing, therefore it's not the damping reference for car audio marketed CLD mats.

To say something is the best, you have to demonstrate why objectively with statistical significance. Of course, if you're not actually concerned with damping performance over a broad range of temperatures on different substrates, then it doesn't matter at all. Just use the deadener look-alikes and imitation products that do neither.

I like DP and would recommend it. But I'm not stupid enough to say something like "it's the best." That doesn't show intelligence, it just shows you know how to type something in a white box and click reply.

i'm with ya man, way to use big words! im still too broke to buy damp pro or dyna extreme lol, but i understood what you wrote!

1 layer on the exterior metal skin 1 layer on the interior metal

1 layer on the door panel

each door will take 15+ sq.ft.
Okay. So when you say exterior metal skin. Do you mean the section thats behind the speaker and forms the doors exterior shape?

As for the interior, I take it you mean the section that you screw the midbass speaker into. The one that the door panel covers and is apparent when you take it off?

Then a layer on the door panel itself?

Did i interpret what you said correctly?

Yea Foxpro5 second skin products are top notch and im willing to bet if you put regular damplifier against dynamat extreme you wouldnt be able to tell the difference not to mention the foil layer is thicker, it has better adhesive properties, heat resistance, and overall baddassery. With your attitude you must love JL Audio.......

How bout if I put them on top, side to side and inside out of each other. Say on the door and other places around the old mobile. How's that for you? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
