Deadening Barn Doors

I've got some Raamat left over from when I deadend my doors. I was thinking of putting it on the cargo doors of my Tahoe. Just wondering if this would do anything toward solving my rattle problem back there.

I can't really seem to point out exactly where the noise is coming from sometimes. But it seems like it's up by the trim around the bottom of the glass. Even the glass itself. I know I get a LOT of noise from the caps on the back corners, outside the truck. I never took them off to see what's rattling in there. But would deadening the barn doors help stop the transfer of vibration, therefore reducing the noise?

Or would I just be wasting mat/time?

it probably would....but i think the cabin pressure flaps are back there somewhere...maybe think about sealing those up and then see where u are.

Cabin pressure flaps? Sound like something on a airplane.

Is that anything like how the holes in the front doors are supposed to be there for some kind of air pressure purpose. I don't know, I read something like that a long time ago.

I haven't taken the back trim apart yet, so I don't even know what it looks like back there.

Go back there and try leaning on the doors, holding the trim, put some pressure on the glass. I would think the mat would help.

use expanding foam instead and use the mat for areas that are needed(thin panels)

fill up all the open spaces with expanding foam and mat the rest.... My rear gate on my Xterra was deadened like this and she was solid as hell

it also pulls air/heat to the rear of the vehicle.

I had vents like this in my old Bravada and sealed em off, gained 4 tenths with some duct tape.

Your vehicle isn't air tight, there is somewhere for the pressure to go even with the flaps.
