deadener

What kind of car do you have?

I did full coverage in my Focus minus the headliner and I did it with right around 200 sqft of deadener from Fatmat to Secondskin.

Fatmat has worked for me just fine, but many people are against it.

Second skin is the popular choice and does a good job, but honestly I have both and both worked for me with about the same applied in 1 layer.

I spent 240 on all my deadener, but wanted to try the Second skin to see how much better it was and honestly I can't tell if it is doing better or not.

If you have an economy sized car, 200 will be plenty.....full coverage.

There is a way to calculate it, but someone else will have to chime in on that.

I use Damplifier Pro and am thoroughly satisfied (36sqft on the trunk sides/bottom, completely eliminated panel flexing). I'm waiting on 20 more sqft for my trunk lid (the only thing that rattles to shit now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

But if you are looking for a cheaper alternative, RAAMat offers lesser but still good quality with a great price.

i am wondering the same thing i mainly need to do my 2 front doors on my f150 and the roof because it flexs alot, so say whats average someone uses for sq fr for two doors i figure 1 layer on the inside panel and 2 layers on the outside panel so around 20sq ft per door so 40 total and then say use the rest of the roll which should be around 20-25sq ft put that on the roof. does that sound about right, but its 120 bucks for one roll of raamat anything cheaper but still works decent.

also do i need any ensolite or no if so whats the point of that stuff

Tell everybody about the boat too you thread jacking mofo........

I ordered a bulk 100 sq ft. of R-Blox when I deadened my car and had half of it left over when all was said and done. That was in a 2 door cavalier. covered trunk and doors fine.

You could check out Elemental Designs, I used a bit in my friends car, the real cheap stuff for $1/sq ft. He put in some budget Pioneer components I got for him. Though it was cheap it did its job. only 40W speakers though. Elemental Designs has the cheapest stuff I have seen. but I havent heard alot of good things about it.

i realized something. one thing i want from my system is loudness, fromout side of the car. deadener would make it louder inside the cabin, but quieter inside. so i dont know if i will do it

As stupid as this sounds, you guys wouldn't believe how many are afraid that "deadner/deader/dynomat" will somehow like kill all the sound in their cars. I've had customers back out of sales because they were worried that it would make their systems too quiet. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smokin.gif.f1dc8d2acb1809e863ebd6a47eaa0d45.gif
