where have you gathered that information?????DD Z1A would be a more reliable amp. Not as much power as the Stetsom, but it will last longer.
Oops, I was thinking of the regular Z1. Z1a for sure. Will last ten times longer than the Stetsom.where have you gathered that information?????from what i have heard you better had super beefy electical for the 7k but after that it will push some serious and clean power, both are good, i would go 7k but whatever you choose will be good
The DD uses a time tested, stable design. The Stetsom 7kd uses two parallel linked 2k5. If one of the boards goes just a bit out of wack, it will blow both or one board. I'll take the Z1A over any Stetsom. I've worked on a 7kd and a DD z1. I haven't got to play with a z1a but I'm sure it's similar to a Z1.once again how do you know this? i would really like to know, if you dont abuse the Stetsom it will do just fine for a long time, not dissing DD they are awesome, just saying
I just started working on the Stetsoms so I am not totally up to speed on the design in them yet, but from my impressions so far, I don't think the 7k2d is a 2k5 x 2 linked. I am pretty sure it's drive circuit is just double that of the 2k5d for gate drive current provision reasons and the gates are driven on and off in 4 groups similar to the operation in most Korean Class D's that have 2 output inductors combining the groups down to 1 signal. I may be wrong, will find out, I have a bunch here some with drive problems so I will get to know it well very soon. How did you come to the conclusion that it was 2k5d x 2 linked? Just curious. The DD uses a time tested, stable design. The Stetsom 7kd uses two parallel linked 2k5. If one of the boards goes just a bit out of wack, it will blow both or one board.
