DD's at a lower tuning???

Yup, that's about what I'm at. As for power, I have my 2 1211a (infinity's @ 2ohms), and a planet audio BB1350.1. I have 6 1508's, and I know they can take some power. I also know they can get loud without sacrificing space.
Because I already have these sitting here. Also, I don't have the money to buy something else right now.

This is the kinda input I'm looking for. Thank you. What size box & power are you using?
I just sold my amp so i could upgrade but it was an alpine pdx 1.1000 and my box is 2.7cubes. I like how it sounds tuned low but im gonna build a new box tuned to 40hz just to see how loud it is and if it still gets as low as i want.

^^^ Im tired of people saying this kind of stuff, DD and AQ are NOT THE SAME WOOFERS.

Ok well i have my 9515 tuned to 34hz and im still able to do a 146.1 sealed at dash in a trunk car and it tears up the lows.

I called DD and asked them why they recommend 40hz and they said that out of all the boxes they put the woofers in, 40hz seemed to be the loudest and everyone all around seemed to enjoy 40hz the most.

If your using aeros why do you need to worry about certain tuning, thats the lovely part of aeros you can change tuning by just swapping/plugging ports!

Enjoy it man and i love my box tuned to 34hz but its only 3cubes and my next one will be 4.5 cubes tuned to 39hz w/ aeros.

I don't recall me saying a 9500 can do anything lol. I simply said they do well in a box tuned lower as well. Probly not as well as a btl or a dp would do however.

Haha prove to me that they are soooo different. Both AQ and DD recommend 40hz for there tuning specs. The original HD3 and the DD 9500 series motors are almost identical. They were built in the same build house IIRC. The soft parts might be different but in the end they are very close. Keep in mind I am talking about the HD3 not the new HDC3.

lol only thing similar is the basket and where there made lol. If there so identical why don't u throw 3k to your driver daily and see if it can keep up lol

Lol Why do you think I have a 3k rms amp then? I would love to use the amp but unfortunately its broken. I personally knew a guy who threw 3K+ at one daily and although it got alittle warm it held up for as long as he had it.

Id ask you if you have a medical condition that warrants such poor memory recall skills, but the text is still on the page for you or anyone else to read even if you had forgotten.

I have an HD3 which is pretty much the same thing and its tuned to 40hz and it stil has plenty of authority on the lows...
I never said they were the same. I said they are similar. Please prove me wrong.
I said pretty much the same not identical. You fail

I think its pretty obvious who smells of failure around here. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Haha this is pointless. Pretty much the same does not = the same. Anyone should be able to comprehend that. But apparently it is a hard concept for some.

The point is that the OP was asking about tuning lower for subs that have a recommended tuning of 40hz. My sub happens to be one of them so I responded. I guess thats a problem? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nono.gif.eca61d170185779e0921b0faa9704973.gif

So in your world, "pretty much the same" just means they share some similarities? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif Hell all subs are pretty much the same then.

And for future reference, if you say 'pretty much the same' and someone calls you out on it, dont say "I didnt say they were the same"... cuz yeah, you pretty much did.

Some people just cannot admit they were wrong. Would it have hurt your ego so much to say "my bad"?
