sounded fine to me, i also checked under the hood, and it was mostly staying at like 14.1-14.2, but sometimes when the bass hit it would drop to 13.2-13.4, and thats with a djthrownslow song.

and was hitting like 30ish when playing songs on my amp, ( djthrownslow songs )

so im guessing thats fine..

so how many rms would i be running right now? and is this maxed out ? how can i improve?

okay, but when i upgrade to 0 awg, am i gonna be able to turn it up more? and if i add a batt in the trunk?

how do i know what my max is. and if i have it all set right.

cause my plan is to upgrade to 0 awg, and add a batt in t he trunk... but is this gonna help ALOT? whats it gonna do for me. thx

is the only real way a oscope? and that wont tell me the max on my subs will it?

You are reaching the limits of the amplifier. You can have 16 batteries and 18 runs of wire but the amp will only put out so much power. The only option is to get a second and strap or get a larger amp.

Yes a o-scope is the only way to check for clipping.

The only way to know when your subwoofer has reached its max is to sdjust and listen for issues such as bottoming out.

The amp only make x amount of power. Just because the gain can go higher does not mean it should. If you set it higher than what it can send a clipped signal which can and most likely will end up damaging your speakers. If you want to be sure you are getting the most out of your amp, you need to get a o-scope so you can actually see when the waves begin to square and clip.

Gain =/= volume control. If you want to get louder get a bigger amp, or try a new enclosure. Is it worth upgrading? Yes because you'll probably want a bigger amp later on down the line. Pounding to their full potential? No, a pair of SA-12s will handle at least 2k. Get a bigger amp and they'll be pounding to their full potential.

7 pages of nonsense and no one has explained what the purpose of the gain setting is. It is NOT a volume knob. It is there to match the output signal of the source unit. For example if your headunit has 2.5v preouts, then you want the gain on the amp to be set to 2.5v (NOT volts AC) Unfortunately most amps don't have the voltage readings printed and instead have an arbitrary number system or even just a visual symbol indicated less to more.

I have a Rockford p1000.1bd and it has the same looking settings and I have 2.5v preouts, same as OP. My gain in about the same place as op after he reset it. Mine is set for around 37vac or 1400wrms x 1 ohm which is what my birthsheet reads. I have a 130a alt, 1 run of 4ga and no electrical upgrades and I'm running a 2ch to the front stage and my **** is maxxed out. I don't push my volume past 50-60% though so I dont really have much of a voltage drop unless I burp a 0 db tone.
