Okay guy's, I have a DD 2515a wired to a QCA3000D it's doing about 1200@1 But the sub is set for 750@1 3k peek, What should I set the gain on to prevent any clipping/overheating I do not, Nor can access as oscilloscope. I looked threw a few threads & couldn't find any real help.

All help is appreciated, Thank you.

I've got a DMM, How do I set the gains with it?
Voltage= SquareRoot(rms x impedence)

Someone give this guy an example please //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yeah somebody do that lol.

Turn the gain all the way down on the amp. Then begin playing a 50-60 hz test tone recorded at 0db through the sub. Turn the HU up to where your max listening level is, then get out your DMM and turn the knob to AC voltage (which is marked by "V~" on most dmm's). Then put the positive lead on the positive speaker output and the negative lead on the negative output. Slowly turn the gain knob until the voltage read is 34.64. Voila

So 34.64 is perfect? I understand what you are saying now, It just needs to be at 34.64?

if i had a sub with 2000 rms and was looking to tune it would i still want the voltage to be at 34.64 ?? tuned

Let me make sure I got this right.

1200 @ 1 with a sub 750@1 RMS is 34.64.

Gain all the way down, Leave HU alone?

Play a test tone such as 50 Multiple times,adjust gain accordingly until meter says 34.64?
