DD Navigation Issue

Just hooked up my JVC KW-NT3HDT last night. Works as it should however the Nav always shows me driving in reverse. I didn't hookup the reverse wire or the speed sensor, as I never have with any nav DD. Anyone know why it shows me driving in reverse?
