Well it just depends on how strong your batteries are. You should always think about electrical before you go crazy with expensive equipment.. You're just asking for trouble without backing yourself up with good electrical. If you spend the money on a bigger alt, you might not need as much batteries as suggested. If you cheap out, then god bless.. I don't know how you're gonna run that equipment without a good alt and batteries.A few batteries? Do i really need all that?
you cant expect power to come out of nowhere man. Your car is not a generator/power plant(especially with a stock alt) and that system needs power to work. Do you even have a digital multi-meter? run your system full blast and monitor your voltages at the battery and amp, if its dropping below 12, you are in the red zone. below 9 or 10 = your car burning up. There's a proper way of doing stuff and there's the ignorant way. which will you choose?A few batteries? Do i really need all that?
What kind of car is it gonna be in? a Singer alt can range from $390-$600 depending on the amperage. I guess you could just get one good battery in the back if it's big enough. How much we talkin here electrical wise. Ill buy a high output big *** alternator but cant i just use one single battery for that amp? And keep the stock battery for standard lights and head unit?
Well since you went with DD, they are heavily underrated which means they might put out more power than intended. If you keep your gains low then you don't really need a beefed up electrical. But considering what you're running, you're looking for a lot of bass so you're gonna wanna crank it up. If you're not feeding it enough power than you're using, your voltage will drop. When that happens, your amps could heat up and blow. Everything will start to melt. Even if you have a good alt, extra batteries might be needed if your amp pulls more current than it can handle. It doesn't hurt to overkill your electrical alittle.I understand a bigger alt and another battery but what im confused on is why need a few batteries
you can get a single good(XSpower) agm under the hood and get the biggest high output alt you can for your vehicle, along with the big 3 upgrade and you should be fine within 12.8- 13.5 volts on idle. If your car idles below 650, make sure to tell mike that so he can tweek your alt a bit or else it wont make any power unless revved up. Take it slowly and monitor those voltages and perform extra upgrades as needed. How much we talkin here electrical wise.
